ABC Teachers are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and engaging Youth Worker to join a dedicated team within a Secondary School setting supporting children with ASC.
About the role
- Provide support to young people with special educational needs, both in small group settings and on a 1:1 basis.
- Work under the direction of the class teacher while using your understanding of individual students to help prevent and resolve conflicts.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people, offering steady guidance and encouragement.
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff, families, and external professionals to deliver personalised support.
- Assist pupils in managing their behaviour, developing self-confidence, and strengthening their resilience.
- Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and nurturing school environment.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and prioritise the welfare of all pupils at all times.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Youth Worker you will:
- A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce, Sporting qualifications and more is desired but not required.
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and making a meaningful contribution.
- Confident in using initiative and taking a proactive approach to challenges.
- Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- At least two years of experience supporting students with special educational needs.
