ABC Teachers is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Classroom Assistant to work part time in SEN Schools in Coventry on a day-to-day supply basis.

About the role

Providing individualised support to students with SEN including autism and speech, language and communication needs.
Working alongside a class teacher and a team of experienced support staff to assist with the general day-to-day running of the classrooms.

Building a quick rapport with the students to support students educational, social and emotional development.

Offering 1-1 or small group support, aiding in academic tasks, social interactions and behaviour management.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEN Classroom Assistant you will:

Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism and looked after children.
Experience with non-verbal children is desirable but not essential.
Suitable qualifications such as Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

2 years experience in a relevant field
