About the role
Within the setting you will be providing personalised support to students, you will be working inside and outside the classroom to support both personal and academic progression of students. The curriculum the school follows aims to allow students to reach their full potential, not allowing their exclusion to define the rest if their journey. Dedicated staff at the schoolwork collaboratively with students, families, and external agencies to promote emotional well-being, social development, and academic progress. By focusing on the holistic needs of these young individuals, the school not only helps them overcome obstacles but also empowers them to thrive in their educational journey and beyond.
About the school
You will be working in an alternative provision designed to provide education for children and young people who have been excluded from mainstream education. You will be working with challenging students whose behaviour is impacting their ability to remain in a mainstream setting.
Requirements
- A Minimum of 1-year experience in a care, residential or educational setting is required.
- A DBS on the update service, or willingness to undergo a DBS Check.
- A passion for supporting and caring for young people with challenging behaviour, SEND Needs and adverse childhood experiences.
- A strong understanding and awareness of safeguarding is essential.
- A background in therapeutic care or therapeutic practice would be desirable.
- An Ability to work individually and take a proactive approach to student care and learning.
- Strong Behaviour Management skills.
- Resilience.
