About the role

ABC Teachers is seeking a dedicated and passionate Sociology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Marston Green. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking sociology lessons to students at A-Level, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and contributing to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality sociology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for sociology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events, contributing to the school's vibrant community.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational best practices and developments in sociology.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of A-Level Sociology Teacher you will:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Sociology or a related field.
  • Experience teaching sociology at secondary level, preferably within the UK.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for sociology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in training and development opportunities.
  • Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • a suitable qualification to teach Sociology i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS
