About the role
ABC Teachers are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head of Department Music Teacher for maternity cover at a thriving secondary school in Yardley.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Music Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement an engaging and comprehensive music curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback.
- Organize and oversee school concerts, performances, and extracurricular music activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a cohesive and supportive teaching environment.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Head of Department - Music you will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Music or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching Music at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- A commitment to fostering a love of music in all students.
- The ability to lead and motivate a department.
- Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- a suitable qualification to teach Music i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS
