About the role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Humanities Teacher to cover maternity leave at a vibrant secondary school in Sheldon. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching History and Geography, inspiring students to explore and understand the world around them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in History and Geography to secondary school students.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and academic success.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and school events.

Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching History and Geography at the secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring curiosity in students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage classroom behaviour and create a supportive learning environment.
- Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
- a suitable qualification to teach Humanities i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS
