ABC Teachers are seeking a Qualified Mathematics Teacher to work within SEND and Alternative Provision Settings.
About the role
A math teacher supporting students with additional needs must possess a diverse set of skills to effectively meet the unique challenges of their students. Firstly, a strong grasp of mathematical concepts across various levels is essential, along with the ability to break down complex ideas into more accessible formats. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills are paramount in understanding and addressing the individual learning styles and needs of students with additional needs, whether it be Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Adaptability and creativity are also crucial in devising innovative teaching strategies and resources to cater to diverse learning requirements. Furthermore, collaboration with support staff, parents, and external specialists is necessary to ensure a holistic approach to student support. Above all, a deep commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and capable of achieving success is fundamental to the role of a math teacher in this context.
About the school
