We are seeking a psychology teacher to join our teaching team form January 2025 for work in and around the Wolverhampton area.
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Psychology Teacher to join our teaching team. The successful candidate will teach Psychology across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, contributing to the ongoing success and development of the subject within the school. You will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that inspire students to achieve their best while fostering critical thinking and a deeper understanding of psychological concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Psychology lessons that cater to a wide range of student abilities.
- Teach GCSE and A-Level Psychology, preparing students for external examinations.
- Develop and implement schemes of work that are aligned with the school’s curriculum and examination board specifications.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices within the department and the school.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school events as required.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in Psychology and educational practices.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Psychology at GCSE and/or A-Level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Psychology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, with a student-centred approach.
Desirable:
- Experience in delivering successful A-Level Psychology results.
- Knowledge of different examination boards and their specifications for Psychology.
- Experience using technology to enhance learning in the classroom.
- Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities, such as psychology-related clubs or events.
