About the role
ABC Teachers is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Director of Vocational Learning (IT Specialism) to join a respected secondary school in Yardley from September 2025. This is a permanent, full-time position ideal for an experienced teacher ready to lead and manage a dynamic team across vocational subject areas.
The role:

Lead the development and delivery of vocational subjects including IT, Sports Studies, PSHCE, Citizenship, and Health & Social Care

Line manage and support subject leads and staff within the vocational faculty

Deliver engaging IT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Drive curriculum innovation and ensure high standards of teaching and learning across vocational areas

Work closely with SLT to raise achievement and enhance student engagement in vocational education

Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in IT or Computing
- Proven track record of excellent classroom practice at secondary level
- Experience or clear potential for middle leadership responsibilities
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Commitment to inclusive education and vocational curriculum development
- Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
- a suitable qualification to teach i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS
