ABC Teachers is looking for skilled SEN Engagement Specialist to join a specialist SEN School in Birmingham on a full-time basis.
About the role
- Help pupils thrive by collaborating with class teachers to prepare engaging and inclusive classroom environments.
- Deliver tailored support through both small group work and 1:1 sessions, adapting your approach to suit individual learning styles and needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress using a combination of home school assessments and robust baseline diagnostics, with the goal of minimising the impact of medical or emotional challenges on educational achievement.
- Build positive, professional relationships with students to gain a deep understanding of their individual and often complex needs, ensuring tailored support within the school environment.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of SEN Engagement Specialist you will:
- Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
- Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
- Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
- Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- At least two years of experience supporting students with special educational needs.
