ABC Teachers is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a SEN School in Dudley.
About the role
-You will play a pivotal role in supporting the learning and development of students with complex needs within an educational setting.
-Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive environment that caters to the diverse needs of each student.
-Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with complex needs, including those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, communication difficulties, and behavioral challenges.
-Assist in adapting curriculum materials and learning activities to suit students' individual needs and abilities.

-Implement behavior management strategies in collaboration with teachers and therapists, employing positive reinforcement techniques and de-escalation methods to address challenging behaviors effectively.
-Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs), ensuring a coordinated approach to meeting the diverse needs of students.
-Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to supporting students with complex needs.
-Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to safeguarding procedures and promoting the physical and emotional well-being of students at all times.
Requirements
- • Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism and looked after children.
- • Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
- • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
- Two years supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
