ABC Teachers is seeking a devoted Learning Support Assistant to work in a school in Wolverhampton.
About the role
- Your role is pivotal in providing tailored assistance to students with diverse educational needs and disabilities.
- Under the guidance of teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), you'll contribute to creating an inclusive environment where every student can access education and thrive.
-Deliver one-on-one or small group support to students with various special educational needs and disabilities, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical or sensory impairments.
-Collaborate with teachers to modify learning materials and activities, ensuring they suit each student's learning style and needs.

-Working to foster social skills development and emotional well-being by providing opportunities for social interaction, friendship building, and emotional regulation, while also offering empathy, encouragement, and reassurance to students.
-Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other relevant documents, ensuring a holistic approach to meeting each student's needs.
-Uphold a safe and inclusive learning environment, following safeguarding procedures, and providing support during transitions and outings to ensure students' physical and emotional well-being.
-Flexible to adapt to students' changing needs and differences.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with special educational needs and disabilities, preferably in an educational or care setting.
- Understanding of special education principles and strategies for supporting diverse learning needs.
- Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
- Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
- Two years supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
