About the role
ABC Teachers is currently recruiting Youth Workers to work as Day-to-Day Cover Supervisors across a range of secondary schools in Moseley and nearby areas, starting from September 2025 on a flexible basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, make a difference in the lives of young people, and explore a rewarding career in education.
Responsibilities:

Supervising pre-set lessons across various subjects in the absence of the regular teacher

Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a calm learning environment

Supporting pupils’ academic and emotional needs with patience and professionalism

Building positive relationships with students, often those requiring additional pastoral care

Requirements
- Background in youth work, sports coaching, mentoring or similar roles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively
- Flexible, reliable and confident working with young people
- Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential
- Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
- a similar position or 5 days in sole charge of a group of children in the last 5 years.
