ABC Teachers are currently recruiting for a Y1 Teacher in the Sandwell area on a long-term, full-time basis to start after the Easter break.

About the role

You will be working with Year 1 students and be teaching all subjects, including Maths, English.

The school use the Jane Conside approach to writing and also use delivering the power of maths so knowledge of this would be preferable but not essential, as training will be provided for the right person.

Due to the importance of early reading they require you to be able to teach synthetic phonics well.

As the Year 1 Class Teacher, you will be supported by a welcoming team and middle leader. You will be expected to attend relevant staff meetings. You will also receive a day of fortnight PPA with the team. There will be an expectation to finish reports at the end of the year too.

As the Teacher, you may also be asked to meet with parents for open day or parents evening in the summer term.

To be successful you will need to have a passion for teaching, good curriculum knowledge and good behaviour management.

About the school

The school is a two form entry school with a fantastic leadership team offering lots of support to the right person.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Year 1 Teacher you will:
  • Deliver well-structured and inspiring lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation, respect, and cooperation.
  • Use effective classroom management techniques to create a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Assess and provide timely feedback on student progress to parents through reports and parents evenings and ensure learning objectives are met
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • A Qualified Teacher Status
ABC Teachers is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
