About the role
Are you looking for a change in career? ABC are delivering the National Teaching Assistant Program for new and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants. ABC Teachers?work with primary, secondary, SEND schools and alternative provisions across the Midlands and we are passionate about making a positive impact in education. In partnership with schools in our local communities, we are proud to launch our National Teaching Assistant Program, designed to support those who want to start a Teaching Assistant career.
As part of the role you will be:

Working with students who have a range of Special educational needs from Autism and ADHD to Physical disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy.

General support in the classroom alongside the teacher, providing a tailored learning environment for students.

This can be full-time or part-time, initially on a supply basis, with permanent opportunities becoming available for the right candidates.
It is important that you:

Have strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build a rapport with students and staff alike

Are able to successfully work as part of a team and be confident to work independently and deal with occasional behavioral challenges.

Requirements
- It is essential that you obtain or can obtain a DBS enhanced certificate for child and adult workforce on the update service.
- It is essential that you have experience working with SEN children or adults.
- Have suitable qualifications to work with young people and support students with SEND, this is not essential but desirable.
- It is essential that you have experience working with SEN children or adults.
