ABC Teachers are looking for passionate individuals who want to work with students with SEN needs and support them in achieving their goals. We are working with a local Birmingham school close to Erdington who are seeking a Teaching Assistant. We also have other roles in the Birmingham and Coventry area.
As a Teaching Assistant you will ensure that you are supporting the individual needs of the child and creating a space of total communication. You will be expected to positively challenge, reinforce the value of practice and cultivate a safe environment for all students.
We also require:

Experience working with an SEN secondary or primary classroom or nursery setting (within the last five years) that we can gain references from.

Someone who can obtain a DBS check.

Hard working mindset to support students to reach their full potential.

To positively contribute to the schools safe, stable, happy and hard-working community.
About the school
The school caters for students with specific special educational needs: MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health). All students who attend the school have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) or are in the process of receiving one.
The students are at the heart of everything the school does, including the use of five focused curriculums to suit each individual child's pathway.
Requirements
- Experience working with an SEN secondary or primary classroom or nursery setting (within the last five years) that we can gain references from.
- Someone who can obtain a DBS check.
- Experience of working with individuals with SEN
