ABC Teachers are seeking passionate individuals to support children and young adults with diverse learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Complex Needs, as a Learning Support Assistant at Baginton Fields School.
About the role
As part of your responsibilities, you will be tasked with providing personal care, assisting with educational activities, and supporting the overall well-being of students with Complex Care Needs. Collaborating closely with staff within the school, you'll ensure that students’ educational, social, emotional, physical and mental health needs are met.

The broad-spectrum school has students 126 students aged 11-19 with complex care needs, whereby the school needs to be catering to students with often profound and multifaceted needs. The school serves individuals who require extensive support due to medical complexities, cognitive impairments, or physical disabilities. Unlike traditional schools, Baginton Fields are equipped with expertise and resources to support a wide range of conditions and learning styles. They offer a holistic approach, integrating academic instruction with therapeutic interventions, medical care, and life skills training. Complex care schools provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can learn, grow, and achieve their full potential, supported by dedicated educators, therapists, and staff members who are committed to their success.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 years' experience in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting or equivalent personal experience supporting individuals with learning needs.
- A valid DBS on the update service, or a willingness to complete a DBS check.
- A commitment to supporting and caring for young people with physical and learning challenges.
- The ability to work proactively and collaboratively in a classroom environment.
- Experience working with SEN students.
- Have a valid DBS on the Update Service.
