ABC Teachers are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join a specialist school in Birmingham as an Inclusive Education Assistant. The school supports children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside some students displaying challenging behaviours.

About the role

Work closely with students to provide personalized support, ensuring their educational, emotional, and social needs are met.

Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment effectively.

Employ positive behavior management strategies to de-escalate challenges and support students in self-regulation.

Foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere to help students engage in learning and build confidence.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Inclusive Education Assistant you will:

Experience: Minimum of 1 year working with SEMH or similar needs, or personal experience managing challenging behaviors.
Resilience and Empathy: A proactive and patient approach to working with students facing complex barriers to learning.
DBS Check: A current DBS on the update service or willingness to complete a new check.
Passion: A commitment to helping young people overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

Minimum of 1 year working with SEMH or similar needs, or personal experience managing challenging behaviors.
