Are you Level 2 Qualified in British Sign Language and able to fluently communicate using BSL? We are seeking a Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work within Birmingham supporting students with hearing impairments.
About the role
Designed to support and enhance the learning of students through an approach of total communication, we are looking for someone to work with us on a flexible basis to provide consistency for students with a primary need of communication support.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of BSL Translator you will:
- British Sign Language Stage 2 qualification and are a fluent BSL user.
- Experience in providing signed communication support or voice over.
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service or willingness to undertake one.
- An appropriate NVQ2 in supporting pupils learning would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Someone who is honest with a respectful and positive attitude.
- A willingness to put in daily effort to progress skillset and further develop character and success.
- Cultivates an environment of inclusivity.
- Supports a space of total communication.
- Supporting the adaptable, rich, and diverse curriculum.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- A British Sign Language Stage 2 qualification and being a fluent BSL user.
