As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will undergo comprehensive online courses covering essential topics such as working in schools, supporting students with SEND, and safeguarding within educational settings. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through 5 days of paid work experience within an SEND school, providing valuable insights into the day-to-day responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant. Throughout your training, you will receive guidance and mentorship from experienced educators, equipping you with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a supportive learning environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine interest in working with children, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow. As a Trainee Teaching Assistant at a broad-spectrum school, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of Special Educational Needs including Autism, Complex Needs, and Speech & Language Delay. Requirements
- A DBS Check, or readiness to undergo a DBS check.
- Personal experience with SEND children is desirable but not essential.
- A passion for working with students who have additional needs.
- GCSE Mathematics and English at a grade C or above.
- Be able to provide a minimum of 2 professional references from prior employment in the last 5 years.
