You will have the opportunity to assist in lesson learning and occasionally lead activities to help the class teacher. With being a Teaching Assistant, there are a number of different roles including a range of support options in large groups, intervention groups or on a 1:1 basis. This gives you the chance to gain valuable new experiences in a primary education setting.

ABC Teachers work with a number of primary in and around the Telford area, working with both small village schools as well as larger schools in town. These schools are always needing cover, with short-term, long-term and day to day roles available. The majority of these schools that we work with are rated at least Good by Ofsted.

• Have at least 2 weeks of relevant, school based work.
• Be able to secure references to cover the last two years.
• Have a DBS that is registered on the update service or be able to arrange one.
• A relevant qualification in childcare is desirable but not essential.
• Be able to form meaningful working relationships with both staff and students.
• Be a welcoming influence on the classroom and individual’s learning. You will also need to give feedback to the class teacher on this learning.
