ABC Teachers are looking for reliable and creative Teaching Assistants in and around the Newport area, who have either relevant qualifications or professional experience we can obtain references for in child-based roles.

About the role

You will be able to have the opportunity to assist in lesson learning and occasionally lead activities to help the class teacher, which will also include a range of support options in large groups, intervention groups and on a 1:1 basis. This allows the chance to gain valuable new experiences in a primary education setting.

About the school

ABC Teachers work with a number of schools both in and around the Newport area. These schools are generally a little smaller in this area, with some 1 form entry and some 2 form entry. The majority of schools we work with are rated at least Good by Ofsted, so there will be schools that suit you!

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant you will:
  • Have at least 2 weeks of relevant, school based work.
  • Be able to secure references to cover the last two years.
  • Have a DBS that is registered on the update service or be able to arrange one.
  • A relevant qualification in childcare is desirable but not essential.
  • Be able to form meaningful working relationships with both staff and students.
  • Be a welcoming influence on the classroom and individual’s learning. You will also need to give feedback to the class teacher on this learning.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • A relevant qualification in childcare is desirable but not essential.
  • Have at least 2 weeks of relevant, school based work.
