A professional Lesson Support worker is required for Primary aged students with Special Educational Needs in the Selly Oak and Northfield Area of Birmingham.
About the role

Supporting students learning experience by providing one to one care and support during the school day.

Personal Care is a requirement and therefore experience in this capacity is key.

Supporting the classroom teacher and individualising work to meet the students understanding.

Management of behaviour within the classroom to ensure a good working environment.

Supporting SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs of pupils both inside and outside of the classroom.

Adherence to all safeguarding policies laid out by the school and working in line with the KCSIE 2023 framework.
About the school
An enjoyable learning community supporting students with moderate to complex needs. Students aged 4-11 attend the school each learning in key stages aligned with their level of need. The school prioritises the holistic development of students, one-to-one and group work is used to enhance the experience for the children and align with everyone's needs.

Requirements
- It is essential that you have experience working with people who have Special Educational Needs or Physical Disabilities.
- An enhanced DBS certificate (on the update service) or willingness to obtain one.
- Have experience of personal care and be confident in supporting personal care needs.
- Be kind and compassionate, willing to work individually and part of a wider team.
- Be willing to travel to different places of work if required.
- Having other qualifications to work with young people and support students with SEND is not essential but desirable.
- experience of working with people who have Special Educational Needs or Physical Disabilities
