ABC Teachers is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work in an SEN School in Kidderminster on a full-time basis.
About the role
- As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised assistance to students with special educational needs.
- Your primary responsibility is to offer tailored support to help students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential within the school environment
- Implementing individualised learning plans, promoting student engagement and independence, and maintaining regular communication with parents, careers and outside professionals.
- The role is on a full-time basis with the possibility to be ongoing for the right candidate.

- A specialist all-through school based in Kidderminster supporting students who have a range of complex learning needs including social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language communication difficulties and autism.
- Maintaining a nurturing environment where young people can achieve their full potential, ensuring that young people are heard, respected, and involved in decisions that affect them, wherever possible, engaging positively with their learning.
- Creating a home-like atmosphere to ensure a smooth transition for students.
- Ensuring a mix of classroom and outdoor learning.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Learning Support Assistant you will:
- Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting, especially with those who have special needs, is desirable.
- Experience through volunteer work in schools, camps, or tutoring can be considered.
- Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
- Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- 2 years experience with supporting children with special educational needs.
