ABC Teachers are looking for experienced cover supervisors to work in schools in and around the Stourbridge areas
About the role
ABC Teachers are seeking reliable and motivated Cover Supervisors to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a school environment and make a positive impact on students' education. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students continue to learn and adhere to school policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage secondary school classes during teacher absences, ensuring that students complete the work set by their regular teachers.
- Maintain a positive and focused learning environment in the classroom.
- Implement the school’s behaviour management policies to ensure a calm and productive atmosphere.
- Provide assistance to students where possible, helping them to understand and complete the assigned work.
- Report any issues or concerns regarding student behaviour or progress to the appropriate staff members.
- Assist with other duties as needed, including supporting individual students or small groups and helping with administrative tasks.
- Contribute to the wider school community by participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and other school events.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom and maintain discipline.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Desirable:
- A relevant qualification or experience in education, youth work, or a related field.
- Familiarity with the UK secondary school curriculum.
- Experience in supervising students or leading activities.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- 5 days work experience with young people
