We are recruiting on behalf of a Primary Special School based in the South of Birmingham that caters for cognition and learning and have 150 pupils on roll with a range of special educational needs, including autistic spectrum condition, speech and language and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
Our curriculum is exciting and challenging, built on many years of development to give our pupils' a quality experience that enriches their lives. Our Forest School status also enriches our curriculum, within this there is an emphasis on learning in the outdoors utilising our fantastic school grounds and using the local community to develop independence skills. The Regional Training Centre status with Apple has also enhanced our curriculum, ensuring our pupils experience and are familiar with the latest technology.
The children are encouraged to be involved in their own learning; they evaluate their own work through the use of words, pictures and symbols and they are keen to do well. Their behaviour is exceptional and we are proud of how they support one another and develop as individuals.
We would like the candidate to be:
- Part of SLT focusing on assessment and pupil progress
- needs good knowledge and experience of Primary Curriculum and SEN
- previous leadership experience
- would be temporary until Dec 2018
Candidates will be required to attend a face to face interview to register; we will need to gain two references either academic or professional and hold an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure (or be prepared to allow us to process one for you).
