About the role
As a Trainee Cover Supervisor, you will supervise secondary school classes during the short-term absence of teachers. You will deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students stay engaged with their learning.
This role provides excellent experience for those considering teacher training, a PGCE, or a career in education.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising secondary school classes (KS3 and KS4) across Telford schools
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities set by teaching staff
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Supporting students to remain focused and complete assigned work
- Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Trainee cover supervisor you will:
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- A passion for working with young people in secondary education
- Confidence leading groups of students
- The ability to adapt to different secondary school environments
- A willingness to undergo training with ABC TeachersA willingness to undergo training with ABC Teachers
- An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
