Online Tutoring Service
ABC Teachers offers an Online Tutoring Services for primary, secondary and SEND schools and other alternative education providers for:
students currently not in school
SATs, GCSE and A-Level exam preparation, and
pupils who require extra support with learning.

Our partnership with Tes
As part of Tes, we can offer advertising for long term supply roles on their website and Tes supply teaching jobs page at no cost to the school. This gives you access to the world’s largest network of teachers and teaching professionals – almost 8 million people – so you get to choose from the very best candidates.
Our day to day service is second to none. Our offices are open from 07:00 until 17:30 and we also run a manned out-of-hours service. We understand that an emergency booking means an emergency.

All of our teachers are prepared to be up and ready in the mornings so that we can call on them at any time. This enables them to get to your school as quickly as possible to ensure the least disruption for your classes.
Competitive charge rates
We know that cost is an important factor and that most schools have limited budgets. Therefore, we have developed our charge rates to give schools excellent value, providing quality teachers and an unrivalled service at a price your school can afford.
In our recent customer satisfaction survey to schools, 100% of our user schools said that our charge rates were excellent, very good, good or average.
Regulations and compliance
October 2011 saw the implementation of the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) 2010. ABC Teachers have worked alongside the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) to ensure that our systems fully encompass the legislation. ABC Teachers are fully compliant and we will effectively manage AWR for your school.

We also fully comply with the IR35 regulations.
As an REC member all of our policies and procedures are in accordance with current legislation and ethical expectations. We adhere to their Code of Practice and Complaints Procedure. Both of these documents are available to view on request.
We have been awarded the DfE Gold Standard since it replaced the Quality Mark, and have achieved 100% compliance in all audits conducted by them.
Work collaboratively with us
We offer an additional package to our schools called the Collaborative Agreement. This package can vary depending on the school’s needs and includes financial discounts, community benefits such as award sponsorships, sports kits and career days and much more. We will ask for regular feedback on the teachers and staff who work at your school through us. This helps us build up a picture of the candidates who have worked well at your school so that we can tailor future placements for you.
ABC Teachers also offer a bespoke service to cater for all of your school’s permanent recruitment needs. Whether you want us to look after the whole process, or just certain aspects, we are confident of finding the right teacher, every time. We take the safety and protection of pupils seriously. All our candidates are fully vetted through our rigorous safeguarding and interview processes.
Our safeguarding processes are in line with both the DfE (Department for Education) and REC’s (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) guidelines. You can be fully confident of your candidate’s background and suitability to work in your school.
We meet every potential candidate face to face, to get to know them and understand their particular strengths. In addition, we have a dedicated and experienced safeguarding department, which works independently from schools, candidates and branches so that checks are carried out in complete confidence by trained vetting staff. A branch cannot offer you a member of staff until the candidate has been fully cleared by our safeguarding team.
Each time you book a member of staff from ABC Teachers, you can be sure that the following have been completed:
- Face-to-face interview
- Right to work check
- Photo ID and address check
- Children’s Barred List check (formerly known as List 99)
- A current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check registered with the Update Service
- Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) lists checked for any relevant prohibitions, sanctions and details of qualifications and induction
- Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 declaration
- Medical check
- Last ten years work history and a minimum of two professional references obtained*
- Relevant qualifications check
- Childcare Disqualification Questionnaire (for candidates working within the primary sector)
- Overseas police check/certificate of good conduct confirmed (where applicable)
* One reference will be from the candidate’s last employer and requested references will cover the last two years of employment
Once a candidate is cleared for work, continued suitability is monitored for all active candidates and ongoing checks are performed by our central Safeguarding team.
